Why we called it Sela

Tea leaves and a ceramic cup on stone beside foliage

Sela is the Indonesian word for a gap: the space between two stones, the opening in a wall you almost walk past. We chose it because that’s exactly what this place is: a small opening in the noise of the city, with a garden behind it.

Every name we tried before this one described the tea. This one describes the feeling of arriving. That felt right.
